Breakfast, the first and foremost meal of the day that breaks our overnight fast. Your breakfast should be nutritious as well as filling so that you get adequate energy for your daily activities. A hearty breakfast surely makes us prepared for the day, isn’t it? Nowadays, people often eat whatever is on the go and have forgotten to enjoy their breakfast as they have places to go and businesses to run. Well, not judging anyone, just speaking the truth!

However, do you know how traditional breakfast looks like in other countries? I’ve compiled a list of traditional breakfast foods eaten by people around the globe. Well, there are numerous countries so out of them I selected the ones with interesting and best breakfast dishes. Let’s check out if your country made it on this list!

Wonder what people living in “land of the rising sun” eats for their asa gohan? Japan is a traditional country and its tradition is beautifully highlighted in the food they eat. For asa gohan (which one might consider a full-fledged meal), people in Japan eat gohan (steamed or boiled rice), miso shiru (miso soup, a soup prepared with dashi which is fish stock, fermented soybeans paste, and bonito flakes), natto (fermented soybeans), grilled salmon, tamagoyaki (Japanese omelette which is rolled to perfection), and pickled vegetables. Itadakimasu!

The “land of the free” starts the day with delicious pancakes generously poured with maple syrup, bagels topped with cream and cheese, bacon and eggs (sunny side up!), cereal and milk, or even orange juice. Well, Americans cannot start the day without their morning dose of caffeine, so yes coffee on the go!

Almost all of us envy Full English breakfast, don’t we? The classic English breakfast includes bacon and eggs, toast, sausages, mushrooms, beans, marmalade, black pudding and of course, orange juice, tea and coffee are popular choices for a hot beverage.

Chinese breakfast has plenty of options to choose from. You’ll never get bored with Chinese breakfast as they are healthy, delicious and a complete delight for your palate. Chinese first start their day with congee, rice porridge with a water consistency prepared with spices, choicest meat and mushrooms. Congee is usually served with youtiao (cruller or Chinese breadstick) and is an ultimate breakfast option for ones who are on the go. Other traditional breakfast options in China are dim sums, noodles, kiao nam (wonton soup), rice, douhua (tofu pudding), and of course tea!
